An increase in the number of surgical procedures performed within private dental practices has resulted in an increased demand for effective surgical aseptic techniques. Creating and maintaining a sterile field is an essential component of the aseptic technique and this course explores these principles. This hands-on course aims to assist the practitioner and/or assistant to master the skills required to ensure an aseptic environment and to follow set surgical protocols. Attend this course to receive a better understanding of the infection control requirements for a surgical procedure, the skills to effectively place sterile surgical drapes, how to perform an effective surgical handwash and to correctly apply sterile gloves.

Dr Anna Sahafi

Dr Anna Sahafi (DDS) qualified from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden in 2002. Dr Sahafi practiced in Sweden for a number of years before continuing to pursue her dental career in London working as a private dentist for almost a decade. The desire for knowledge and sharing knowledge has always been a natural fit for Anna. There is no doubt that her appetite for knowledge in the continued developments of patient care was cultivated during her time with many of the leading professors in the dental world. Moving to Australia provided the perfect platform for Anna to dedicate her next career move to dental education and training. Anna is keen to leverage and impart her experience to assist and develop the skills of others.
