Dr AJ Salman
I earned my Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago in 2012. At Otago, I was elected the President of the NZ Dental Students Association. I was honoured by the NZ Institute of Minimal Intervention Dentistry for my piece, “The Role of Dentists in Society.” I received the Pierre Fauchard Academy award for excellence in clinical dentistry and leadership. I have also been granted a fellowship to the ICCDE (International College of Continuing Dental Education). In 2022, I completed my diploma in primary care dentistry from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ireland. Over the past 12 years of being a dentist, I feel that I have experienced the most rapid ascent of technological advancements in the history of dentistry. I went from developing X-ray films in a dark room to check my amalgam restoration, to completing 10 porcelain veneers in a single day. I have made it my mission to seek out the latest technological advancements that can help patients achieve better outcomes. I hope that I can help others see the benefits of technology so we can all elevate the dental profession higher than ever before.
