An overview of Infection Prevention and Control in the Dental surgery based on the NZDA code of practice. All aspects of infection prevention and control can be covered based on standard precautions. Simple steps will be advised to help the routine practice of standard procedures, from hand hygiene, environmental control, personal protection, instrument reprocessing, sterilisation and monitoring of waste management. This is not a product focused lecture, although advice will be available on what to look for when selecting which cleaner, disinfectants to use and the difference between products.
