One of the biggest challenges in ortho grade root treatment is locating and negotiating calcified canals. Even teeth with simple anatomy that suffer trauma often present with extreme calcification of the root canal. The MB2 of upper molar teeth is almost always calcified. Location and negotiation of these canals require both a unique skill set and an arsenal of equipment. In this hands on course participants will be able to bring in extracted teeth and practice access , location, as well as negotiation of calcified canals using a novel patency filing technique. Preparation of these canals will then be carried out using motor driven files.

Further informationDr Omar Ikram completed his undergraduate degree at Otago University. After working in private practice in New Zealand, Omar moved to London in the UK, where he developed an interest in restorative dentistry.In 2005 he completed the FRACDS final examination in the general stream, and began specialist training in Endodontology and graduated from King’s College London in 2009. After graduating he moved to Sydney and established Specialist Endo Crow’s Nest.
