The Auckland regional public OMS unit services the entire Auckland and Northland regions and serves as an accredited training centre through the RACDS. It offers patients the full scope of the specialty and manages a high caseload, both acutely and electively. The management of odontogenic infections and mandibular fractures make up the major portion of its acute workload and our speaker will expand on both these topics in further detail.

Dr James Olsen is a consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, working both publicly and privately in Auckland. He is the supervisor of training for the Auckland centre and also sits on the ANZAOMS Australasian council as nextgen director. Jamie is a New Zealand trained specialist Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon, who practices the full general scope of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery.
